Stop Saying Sorry

You tell me I don’t need to say sorry all the time,

But all I’ve ever felt like is a burden.

Something that takes up space,

And needs to be gotten rid of.

So instead, I take the form of a ghost,

Slipping between people and hiding in graveyards.

The darkness is my closest friend,

And I shy away from the light.

You tell me to stop saying sorry all the time.

But it has become one of my masks that I use to hide.
