Oh, To Be Kind
I am made of iron and steel,
designed to withstand the pressure of a thousand voices.
I am strong enough to survive heat and frost,
to oppose the cruellest of people.
But I do not want to be.
I want to be soft, and sweet, and kind.
To encourage vulnerability and meet it with a gentle hand and a warm heart.
I want to be weak, and fragile, and flawed.
To inspire creation and seek it out with an easing touch and an empathetic mind.
