I Know Who You Are

Fear, anger, sadness,

I know who you are now.

You are the fear that holds my hand when I need to be cautious,

The anger that writhes within me when I have been mistreated,

The emptiness that pools around me when my needs are not being met.

You protect me,

Guide me,

Instruct me.

I thank you for that.

But I am no longer in danger.

I no longer need your protection.

I no longer need you to guide me.

Nor do I need you to instruct me.

I am stronger, braver than before.

I can thrive by myself.
