Don’t Forget About Me

Please don’t forget about me.

Not while my heart is still pumping,

Not while my lungs are still heaving.

When my spirit is gone,

And my body is buried,

You can move on.

But by God, please don’t turn from me while blood still rushes through my veins.

Don’t let my words fall dead upon your ears.

I’m here,

I matter.

Please remember I exist.
